Rape Crisis Companions staff the 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline and provide crisis intervention, support, advocacy, and information to clients both over the phone and in-person at local hospitals.  Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts are available. Companions are required to serve in a minimum of four, 12-hour shifts each month, alongside a minimum one-year initial commitment. The next training will be held May 7, 2017 - June 10, 2017. General Volunteers provide indirect service support for our staff and clients within our Uptown Charlotte and Lake Norman offices. Such duties include, but are not limited to:
• assisting with clerical and office duties such as sorting, filing and data entry
• providing physical support for our Advancement team with special events and other assigned duties
• providing critical assistance to the STRC Volunteer Coordinator
• staffing special events and community education engagements (i.e. talks, tabling events)
• preparing materials for our support groups and other client services

General Volunteers are required to serve in a minimum of two, three-hour shifts each month, alongside a minimum one-year initial commitment. There are two upcoming General Volunteer Training Courses scheduled for April 22, 2017 and May 7, 2017 from 10am to 2pm both dates.

Advancement Team

This year we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our annual Men For Change Breakfast! Join us April 25th at the Charlotte Covention Center. Victim Assistance

Court Advocates accompany survivors of doemstic violence and sexual assault to civil and criminal court in order to provide moral support and information. Requires daytime availability. 
The next training will be April 25th and 26th.

Domestic Violence Shelter

We currently have a high need for for child care volunteers 9am - 2pm, Monday - Friday. The next Shelter volunteer training will be held on Tuesday, April 25th from 6pm - 8pm.

We are also in need of cleaning supplies such as all-purpose cleaner, Windex and Pine Sol. To donate, please use the information below to contact Tenille Banner.
