Fighting for Women with Fashion

We are excited to announce that tickets are now
available for our annual Fighting for Women with Fashion event! This year's event will raise much-needed funds for Victim Assistance and Legal Representation Program (VA/LRP). The VA/LRP assists victims of domestic violence who seek domestic violence protective orders in court, and is supported by Safe Alliance staff and pro bono attorneys who provide legal representation and court advocacy.

Tickets are $75 until September 22nd and $100 after. Tickets include a lively fashion presentation by Dillard's featuring brave models from both the legal and medical professions, an always-sold-out wine pull, raffle, and a high-stakes silent auction.

Through a unique collaboration of the Women Lawyers of Charlotte and the Women Physician Section of Mecklenburg County Medical Society, the Fighting For Women With Fashion events have raised more than $240,000 over the past 5 years.

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who participated this year in our 5th annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes. Special thanks to former Raiders Safety Usama Young for kicking off the walk and our vibrant host Buff Faye, who kept the party going. We are still accepting donations if you'd still like to donate by clicking here!

Mike Blackwelder, Safe Alliance Chief Advancement Officer says, "I'm humbled by the amount of support we received, and the willingness of so many men and women to walk a mile in heels in the summer heat. The funds raised will help support so many survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and the awareness raised around the issues is invaluable."

Walk A Mile in Her Shoes is a national event that was brought to Charlotte as a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community about the serious causes, effects and remediations to men's sexualized violence against women.
