Piper Glen Women’s Club
The Piper Glen Women’s Club will hold its annual holiday luncheon Dec. 5 at TPC Piper Glen, 4300 Piper Glen Drive, Charlotte. The holiday luncheon is a tribute to the women’s club’s favorite charity, the Safe Alliance Battered Women’s Shelter.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon followed by a presentation from Kelly Coyne of Safe Alliance. Ms. Coyne will share stories about the women and children who have been helped by donations from groups such as the women’s club, introduce the new 80-resident facility and discuss the shelter’s current needs.
Join the women’s club to celebrate the season and raise funds and collect gifts for the shelter. This year, the PGCW is again collecting new, unwrapped gifts for the holiday store where children and moms shop for each other. The club also is collecting items and funding to decorate a room in the shelter’s recently completed Clyde and Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter set to open this winter.
The PGWC has raised about $2,000 in the past two years alone for the Battered Women’s Shelter. The group also collected essential items for daily living, supplied hundreds of gifts for the Holiday Store and volunteered for various tasks at the shelter.
Please bring a new, unwrapped gift for a woman or child to the luncheon. In many cases your gifts will be the first time these women have been able to select gifts for their children.
Guests may also choose to bring items on the shelter’s wish list. The wish list includes items such as cereal, coffee, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, sheets, blankets and umbrellas. Access the entire list at http://unitedfamily.clickcom.com/get-involved/wish-list/.
Reserve your seat early for the luncheon. RSVP deadline is Nov. 30. To register, mail your check, payable to Piper Glen Women’s Club, to: 7117 Seton House Lane, Charlotte, NC 28277 or pay online with Online Bill Pay (Visit piperglenwomensclub.com for instructions).
