Standing with survivors transforms lives every day. This past fiscal year, Safe Alliance impacted 25,548 individuals across Charlotte-Mecklenburg through our life-changing survivor resources and community engagement initiatives.
With our community's support, we expanded our human trafficking services, broadened our scope of work, and continued preparing for the future of survivor services in Mecklenburg County.

The Future of Survivor Services
As we look ahead, we are excitedly preparing to open The Umbrella Center, Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Family Justice Center, in Summer 2027.
"DNA does not make a family; it is love, caring, and protection," said NC State Senator Woodson Bradley, a domestic violence survivor and member of the Survivor Input Taskforce. "You just need this much more courage than what you woke up with to make it through the day."
The Umbrella Center is designed to meet survivors where they are and help them take their next step forward. This survivor-centered, trauma-informed facility will house critical services under one roof, providing a single point of access for the comprehensive care survivors need -- from human services and healthcare providers to legal support and law enforcement.
We're so proud to bring this transformational model to our community. Together, we're building a hopeful and welcoming place that will allow us to help survivors on their journey to a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.
