On the Edge of Transformation: FY 2025 Impact Report

From safety plans developed in moments of crisis to ongoing counseling sessions that help survivors reclaim their sense of self, every service was made possible because our community showed up. Board members, staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and advocates came together to provide more than programs, they provided a lifeline.

Looking Ahead: The Umbrella Center

This past year brought both challenges and remarkable milestones. We advanced critical services, strengthened partnerships, and prepared for the most ambitious project in our history: The Umbrella Center.

"When I found Safe Alliance, I knew it was a place of love, and a perfect fit for survivors." Shares Rashida, one of the Survivor Co-Chairs of The Umbrella Center Capital Campaign. She's an individual who is not only thriving beyond abuse but is now leading the way to create a space of safety, healing, and hope for others. "Safe Alliance leads the fight for those impacted by the multifaceted chains of abuse in our community, and through the resources at The Umbrella Center, survivors can make the same transition I did to a safer and healthier future, even when it feels uncertain.

Scheduled to open in Fall 2026, The Umbrella Center will be Charlotte-Mecklenburg's first family justice center, bringing together service providers under one roof to streamline access to safety, advocacy, justice, and healing. Designed with dignity, collaboration, and survivor-centered care at its core, this new space will transform how our community supports those impacted by interpersonal violence.

Moving Forward. Together.

We recognize that we move forward in a climate of uncertainty. Federal funding for domestic violence and sexual assault services remains at risk, making the role of local, individual support more vital than ever. But we remain confident, because we've seen what's possible when this community comes together.

Every act of support, whether it's a volunteer hour, a financial contribution, or a shared social media post, ripples outward. It helps us provide safety for someone in danger, offer healing to someone in pain, and open a pathway forward for someone ready to rebuild.

"Safe Alliance saved my life. From the moment I called the Hope Line, I felt seen and supported. My advocate told me that I deserved a life without harassment and fear. She reminded me to eat and take a breath. She encouraged me to get outside and take my daughter to a park. She helped me reclaim pieces of my life that abuse had stolen.

Every time I told my story, I got a little piece of myself back. That's why I believe so deeply in the future of The Umbrella Center. Survivors deserve one place where they can find safety, support, and hope, all under one roof."  Audra Toussaint says, she serves as Survivor Co-Chairs of The Umbrella Center Capital Campaign.

The work of Safe Alliance is a testament to what we can achieve together. With your continued partnership, we will open The Umbrella Center in 2026 and offer survivors a space that reflects their worth and empowers their future.

On behalf of our entire team: thank you for believing in our mission, for standing with survivors, and for helping us shape a safer, more hopeful future for all.
