October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), and Safe Alliance is rolling out "Hope Is Calling," an awareness campaign including a virtual event on Oct. 29, to educate the Charlotte community about the devastating impact of domestic violence and sexual assault on our region and how they can support survivors and make our community safer.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we've seen a 45% increase in calls to our 24/7 Greater Charlotte Hope Line, and we continue supporting survivors through our shelter, advocacy, counseling, legal services, and more. To meet the growing demand for survivor resources, the Breakfast of Hope will transform! This year, we're shifting our focus to "Hope Is Calling," sharing our message with a wider audience and promoting the Greater Charlotte Hope Line, a lifeline for Mecklenburg County residents.
Hope Is Calling will provide safe, socially distanced opportunities for those who would typically attend our breakfast as well as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community to remain actively engaged with Safe Alliance throughout the month of October (Domestic Violence Awareness Month). Sponsors will have the opportunity to receive brand recognition through multiple media channels, including TV, print, and social. Champions of Hope commit to raise vital funds for Mecklenburg County survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Behind every great event ... are great sponsors! Check out our sponsorship packet (pdf) to learn more about sponsorship benefits, including logo recognition in commercial spots, digital advertising, the Charlotte Business Journal, and more.
Have you hosted a table at the Breakfast of Hope in the past? Or are you looking for a way to make a difference during Domestic Violence Awareness Month? We have a great opportunity for you in 2020 to become a Champion of Hope! Each Champion will raise life-saving funds for Safe Alliance while providing a fun, educational activity for 2020 attendees. As a Champion of Hope, you can choose to participate in Champion Fundraising, host guests virtually during the Oct. 29 Safe Alliance event, or host a small, personalized gathering for people in your social and professional circles. We'll work with each Champion to support your preferred model. Download our Champion of Hope packet (pdf) to learn more about Champion opportunities.
We're hosting a virtual training for Champions of Hope Sept. 24 at 12 p.m. Safe Alliance President & CEO Karen Parker will share updates about the agency and our response to COVID-19. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to get the Zoom link.
