Survivor Resource Center

Located in Suite 530 of the Children & Family Services Center Building in Uptown Charlotte, the Survivor Resource Center offers a short-term, small-scale solution to the disjointed, often complicated process survivors of violence face when they seek help.

Mecklenburg County Community Support Services, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD)Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center, and Safe Alliance collaborate to determine the highest lethality cases on a referral-only basis for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment. The Survivor Resource Center provides "navigator staff" to guide survivors through the multi-step process.

The Survivor Resource Center is a temporary precursor for the highly anticipated Charlotte-Mecklenburg Family Justice Center, named The Umbrella Center. The Umbrella Center will be comprehensive in scope, offering a full range of services to survivors of domestic, child, sexual, and elder abuse as well as human trafficking. This center will serve as a walk-in center open to anyone who self-identifies as a survivor of abuse or victims who are referred.

The Survivor Resource Center represents a wide-ranging partnership among a variety of Charlotte-Mecklenburg agencies, including the following service providers:
