Third Party Events

Nothing is more devastating to a perpetrator than community. Many generous organizations and individuals create FUN and meaningful events to benefit Safe Alliance and the families we serve. You can, too!

If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser or awareness event, please complete this Third Party Event Form and submit it to Tambra Soliday. All event requests will be reviewed by an internal committee to determine if the event is an appropriate fit with our mission and to ensure that event proceeds will be designated to Safe Alliance as advertised. After an event is approved, a Safe Alliance staff person will be assigned as a liaison to work with you in planning and executing the event. We ask that all funds collected from the event be delivered to Safe Alliance within 30 days after the event.

Give a Name to your Event:
Be creative or stick with something tried and true. As this is your event, we recommend the name of the event is followed by the words "benefitting Safe Alliance." This will show our support of the event.

Start a Committee:
Based on the size of your event, we recommend that you form a committee made up of peers, family, and friends to help you with your plans and that you utilize hobbies or interests of your team. By getting many people engaged and involved in your event, you will be creating more awareness, contacts, and guests to help with, and attend, your event.

Selecting the time and date of when to have your event is one of the most important decisions you will make. Make sure to choose a date far enough in advance to give you enough time to plan and promote the event. Consider national, regional, local and religious holidays, in addition to community calendars before selecting a date. For Safe Alliance, you might consider holding your event during the following months/dates:

April Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Child Abuse Prevention Month
May Mental Health Awareness Month
Children's Mental Health Awareness Week
September National Suicide Prevention Week
October Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Mental Illness Awareness Week

Be realistic when considering setting goals for your event attendance, revenue, and expenses. Safe Alliance is not responsible for any event expenses, so look closely at any up-front costs you might need to incur for your event. Consider asking for donations for items you need at your event, and also sponsorships if your event is large enough.

You could have the best planned event, however if no one knows about it and attends, the hard work of you and your committee could go to waste. With social media, it is easy to get the word out to family and friends, through email, Facebook and Twitter. We recommend that you send out a Save the Date at least two months in advance.
